I didn’t buy much new stuff this year, so it has mainly been reissues. Xasthur, Miles Davies, Gore, Oxbow, The Fall, Darkthrone, Throbbing Gristle – can’t go wrong with that lot.

Live music highlights of 2008

Clinic, Right Hand Left Hand, Mahjonng, Weedeater, Future of the Left, Truckers of Husk and Threatmantics continued to be awesome.

What else did you enjoy this year?

Alcohol, cheese, conversation, the Guardian quick crossword, H.P. Lovecraft (as always).

2008 was…

The usual mix of despair and hilarity. Missed what was possible the last ever performance by Whitehouse – gutted.

2009 will be…

Better than last year, hopefully. If all goes to plan, the Cern collider should discover the hypothetical ‘fourth chord’.
