Recorded highlights?
Time To Pretend by MGMT, Geraldine and It’s My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry by Glasvegas, the Fleet Foxes album, the Vampire Weekend album and not a lot else. My god that’s all really poppy…the few indie points I might have are trickling into the gutter as we speak.

Live highlight?
Leonard Cohen performing Suzanne and Hallelujah at Glastonbury as the sun disappeared over the hill. Not a dry eye in the house. Nothing else came close.

2008 was…
the laziest year of my musical life in terms of a sheer lack of gigs (might have played three or four) but at least me and some mates raised a grand for charity covering Beatles tunes a couple of months ago. On the plus side it’s probably the year that I’ve listened to Radio One and read the NME the least in my entire life. I have no idea what’s going on and it’s great. I’ve mainly been listening to Elliott Smith and Let It Bleed/Sticky Fingers-era Stones and that’s fine by me.

2009 will be…
busy. The ERP may be flapping its massive trunk oncemore. Also there’s the small matter of that Jonny Reasons guy locked and loaded ready to come in the faces of the record-buying public.
