Three Syllables go crazy. Second gig in two days and a late substitution, H. Hawkline is supporting instead of the previously advertised Le B.

SARA LOV
Sara is the frontwoman of indie favourite dream pop band DEVICS, who were famously signed to Bella Union by COCTEAU TWINS’ Simon Raymond.

It is perhaps because of the success of DEVICS that LOV finds the idea of going out on her own exciting. “I learn every day and doing scary things makes me grow,” Lov says. “Dustin (O’Halloran, the other half of DEVICS) and I make wonderful music together, but like every creative person there’s always that insistent urge to write both music and lyrics for yourself, test yourself, challenge yourself.”

LOV views much of her life in a similar way – taking something frightening that could have overwhelmed others, and making it a positive influence on her life and music. At the age of five, the Hawaiian-born LOV was kidnapped by her father and taken to Israel, then Minnesota, and then ended up in L.A. at age 12 where she was raised by her uncle.

Her debut album ‘Seasoned Eyes Were Beaming’ was produced by Zac Rae (FIONA APPLE, ANNIE LENNOX, MY BRIGHTEST DIAMOND) and mixed by Darrell Thorp (RADIOHEAD, BECK), and featuring cameos from Alex Brown Church (SEA WOLF) and Solon Bixler (GREAT NORTHERN).

For an artist who was curious about recording and performing on her own, LOV has proven she had little to be concerned about. Anyone that listens to ‘Seasoned Eyes Were Beaming’ are certain to be just as pleased.

Her debut UK solo tour, and she is touring with a cellist from THE POLYPHONIC SPREE and the pianist from MANUOK, THE ALBUM LEAF and THE BLACK HEART PROCESSION. Simply divine, SARA LOV has the voice of an angel that reduces grown men to tears! This most definitely is not the show to be missed!

H. HAWKLINE (heroically replacing the injured LE B at short notice)
Support comes from the incredible H. HAWKLINE. Primitive Welsh primitive guitar instrumentals, wrong tunings and an irregular metronome. Quizzical arrangements, and a persona onstage that is simply captivating. An attraction to guitar purists and intrigued listeners alike – H. HAWKLINE has been leaving a very impressionable mark on Welsh listeners over the last year, slowly ducking and weaving his way through the maelstrom of mediocre acts to be bubbling up under the surface, threatening to break through.

Most folk will know that H. HAWKLINE (the very talented Mr. Huw Evans) is also caught performing with our very own CATE LE BON, and with good reason. Together they’re the best thing since sliced bread.

Sit and listen, I guarantee you’ll be captivated from start to finish. And I’ve been informed that Huw has a shiny new guitar that he cannot wait to break in. Yummy!

H. HAWKLINE – like a diamond in the landslide, look him in the eye at your own peril.
