New State Radio are a hard-hitting 4-piece from Newport, South Wales. Influenced by the raw, Welsh passion of Manic Street Preachers, NSR present anger and sensitivity in one glorious package. Get in touch, get involved, help us out if you can, most of all enjoy being a part of our music and message.
Modern music is built on an incredible mix of different cultures and origins, from Africa to the Caribbean, Latin America, India, and indeed our very own Newport! It’s the very nature of music to bring different cultures together, to appreciate and enhance each other. This has been, and should always be, a reflection of wider society.
Ringsaroundsaturn
We introduce Devastatingly Heavy Fucking Rock from the South West Featuring members of Gurkha, Big Naturals, 4LW and The Viva Knievils(RIP). Both Big Naturals and The Viva Knievils rocked the stage at Joy so these guys should be ace.
The Sick Livers
The Sick Livers played their first gig @ The Legendary Tjs at the end of last month, featuring such legendary people as Ginge Knievil (Vox), VJ – (Guitar), Matty – (Sticks), and Dai – (Bass) who are a South Wales super punk band who have played in some of these bands: Black Eye Riot; The Viva Knievils; Strawberry Blondes; Shrapnel; Smash TV; Giraffe; Legs Akimbo; The Fuel Explosion; 8.4% ,just too name a few.
This will also be there single launch at Le pub called Hell Of A Girl (3 trackEp).
R-Kives
We started in febuary 2008 from three amigos from the mighty Newbridge and aquired the roar drum and bass sounds along the way. We are made up of “Mr Soft – Damien” the singer with the sharp hair cut and vocals to match, “Ratty – Chris” the guitarist who never fails to perform 😉 “B.C. – Kieran” the guitarist who adds the grit and shit, “OB- James” on the low tones, finally we have “PoodleHead – Gethin” on the skins. We are tearing up South Wales and on our way to bigger and better things!
