Support your local weirdo Part 437. The last time Stacking Chairs played Undertone Casey had jettisoned his bandmates and replaced them with a picnic hamper, an animatronic toy Santa and a miked-up toasted cheese sandwich. Some sort of Satanic tea party followed, with guitar played over cassettes of children singing and free beer handed to the audience. No idea what’s planned for this time; you’d be a plonker and a half to miss it.

Course, there’s more than just one reason to attend. Headliners Lovely Eggs kick twee a new bumhole via smuggled literary references, dangerous levels of actually funny humour and old-enough-to-know-better lustiness. Also, get there well punctual like for opener Rosie Smith, one half of the excellent Joy Of Sex and rarely-seen solo performer. Tell the DJ he has a lovely munchkin face too. He likes that.

THE LOVELY EGGS are David & Holly. One likes books and historical things, the other likes cine light shows and fixing things that are broken.

Their music is mainly influenced by the ecstasy of the modern mind and all its trappings, THE VELVET UNDERGROUND, DANIEL JOHNSTON, SONIC YOUTH, JONATHAN RICHMAN, THE MAKE-UP, MOLDY PEACHES and BIKINI KILL.

New single ‘Don’t Look At Me (I Don’t Like It)’ is out on Cherryade Records this month, with album ‘Cob Dominos’ to follow on Valentine’s Day.
