Yes it is bloody Christmas. Stop complaining. Some points to mention here: the last time The School played a bespoke set was this summer’s Ramone’s show and that was good enough to realign planets – this time it’s specially crafted Christmas covers and a peek into the forthcoming second album, the follow up to this year’s gorgeously hearbroken ‘Loveless Unbeliever’. THIS IS ALL GOOD NEWS. Let’s get merry, in a winsome kinda way. You may also be interested to know this evening will feature The Loves’ last ever Cardiff gig – after a million years together the dayglo retropoppers will be hanging up their paisley togs after a London date early next year. And what else? Well, someone foolish has invited us (along with stellar girl-group enthusiasts Chick Habit) to play some records between the bands. Expect double-merry.
