Okay, one more mention of ATP and we’re done (maybe). One of my abiding memories of last year’s Breeders-curated joyfest was walking from a screening of the Exorcist and into the end of Holy Fuck’s set. Hundreds of mashed people jumping and squealing as one to madly leery bleepness and euphoric neon nastiness. It was quite something, and a sometime-writer for this website could be seen forward rolling out of the crowd and through a sea of empty pint pots. Imagine this loud, twisted, gnarly, beat-spattered and fucking superb band in a venue that doesn’t smell of bad hotdogs. Keep an eye open for SBTRKT too, the bemasked dubstep-ish dude, playing something more than just a DJ set. We’re told.
HOLY FUCK

Holy Fuck started with a simple concept, to mimic modern, electronic music without using modern fail-safes like laptops and programmed backing tracks so they armed themselves with a drum set, a bass guitar, a myriad of toy keyboards, guitar pedals, mixers and even a 35mm film synchronizer and hit the stage. NME named them as one of their top three performances when they appeared at Glastonbury.
