The Go! Team can seem a little like one of those Magic Eye pictures I guess, all the colour and noise obscuring what can be seriously life affirming pop music. They smash together some of the better elements of life – girl group sunshine, way cool playground chants, magpie samples, wide open American film scores, dancing like a tit – and spread it thick and proud. They’ve always been an inclusive party, and when I think of them I always recall their encore at Cardiff Coal Exchange quite a few years ago, support bands Smoosh and The Grates joining all on stage, bouncing around under hundreds of balloons. New album features Beth from Best Coast and Satomi from Deerhoof, so they’re completely on the side of the angels.

Get there early too for inspired support choice Banjo Or Freakout – Alessio Natalizia’s ace project to fuse shoegaze fuzz, sideways guitar and cloudy vocal harmonies. He’s a bloody gem.

THE GO! TEAM return with a brand new album ‘Rolling Blackouts’, their first in 3 years.

The Brighton sextet first exploded onto the scene in 2004 with their infectious mix of indie, hip-hop beats, samples, cheerleader chants and live instrumentation, making it impossible not to dance.

Debut album ‘Thunder, Lightning, Strike’ made them an overnight success in the UK, and led to a Mercury Prize nomination and worldwide tour.

The new album includes recent single ‘Buy Nothing Day’, featuring Bethany Consentino of BEST COAST, along with a guest appearance by Satomi Matsuzaki from DEERHOOF.
