Dance your cares away, forget about endless oil spills and Israeli gunboat diplomacy and raise some money for an actual good cause HERE, at the fundraising alldayer that is F.A.G. Pride. As you’ll see below, your dosh will go towards August’s Pride Bristol, while you, at the same time, can enjoy a fairly stellar selection of bands. Chief among them are Joy faves (apart from Matt, who’s a knobber) The Jelas, who play ultra-fun ADHD rock, itchy and twitching and jerking in a different direction every 30 seconds. They are great, and good company in a Wetherspoons too. Relocated from Cardiff, F.A.G. Club only do chocka bills of swish music so go say hello.

FAG Club invite the queer community of Bristol to an all-day early Summer party to raise funds and awareness for Bristol Pride, due to take place in Bristol from 14-22 August, 2010.

The event will be a Bristol album launch for much loved DIY heroine Lianne Hall who releases her new and anticipated album, Crossing Wires, on June 14th. Exclusive copies will be available at the FAG Club party. Be sure to not miss what John Peel described as one of ‘the great English voices’ perform some of the most exquisite music of her career to date.

Also performing at FAG Club that day we have the cream of the local queer and women’s music scene in Bristol and the South West. There will be a handful of solo performers including the enigmatic Mark Darkside, sumptuous bass noise from Bath’s Miss. Gardiner and a FAG Club debut for the endlessly talented Electric Alice.

There will be music from the irresistible Jelas and the Pesty Mawgans who claim they sound ‘like two badgers jumping on top of their set after killing a human with a spade’. Something for everyone and never a dull moment is promised. More acts will be confirmed in the coming weeks so be sure to pop down throughout the day for a friendly and relaxed Sunday with tea, cake and music courtesy of FAG Club, the friends you are yet to meet.

FAG Club is a not-for-profit, do it together event. We aim to create spaces where queer people can express themselves and feel happy. For more info about us please email fagclub@riseup.net
