The underground always parties. Amateurs do it better. Come celebrate these undeniable factoids at Cafe Kino (still in its relatively new location) with a spew of little known bands who are both spunky and good. Roseanne Barrr are from London and play loud and spazzy bass/drums/attack. They also cover Mariah Carey and vomit out split cassette releases in fine style. Bellies! you should know by now as Bristol’s premier awkward oestrogen rockers – seriously, Nat and Debi’s guitar/drums writhing makes a brilliant mess of hollered skronk rock (and, ahem, they’re playing a gig for us next month). One man thing Slushy Guts completes, issuing weird bedroom noises and further home-recorded releases. Whether these bands fire for five minutes or years doesn’t really matter; they’re alive and burning now.

Cafe Kino and Something Good present..

An all ages, all evening gig.

ROSEANNE BARRR think loud thoughts out loud. Screaming or speaking or jabbing thunderous sounds from instruments, they chill and/or thrill depending on your outlook.

BELLIES! are made of Drunk Granny and Jelas members, out of their instrumental comfort zone and into the fire. Grievances and desires are played out with charismatic urgency.

SLUSHY GUTS is one brain, quietly mulling it over with the help of an electric guitar, and occasionally a keyboard. Songs from a dark bedroom of discontent.

I will be posting tracks and extended band write-ups on the Something Good blog over the next two weeks: http://somethinggood.tv/
