Yes, that is a lot of people involved. More important than a load of scumbag promoters and DJs though is (duh) the actual music. Cats & Cats & Cats bring their squawking, swooning mixture of post rock and clattering indie back to South Wales again: we love them here at Joy Towers and have spaffed good reviews on them like billy-o (try here and here for example). The violinist is back. Heads up. Also playing are the Siegfried Sassoon, an intriguing-sounding bunch from Surrey with a jazzpopping, genrehopping thing of their own going on. You’ll also see some sort of DJ-off between us and other actual DJs. We’re going down.

CATS & CATS & CATS – “The Boy With The Beak is where Cats demonstrate what truly sets them apart; a track that fizzes with energy whilst still managing to provide moments of aching beauty.” 5/5 God is in the TV zine

“Violin and trumpet echo over atmospheric and mathy guitars, accompanied by a shaky yet confident voice as the band pounds and crescendos all over the shop.” The 405

THE SIEGFRIED SASSOON  are Surrey band. Depending on who you ask we are Art/Post/Pop/Prog/Noise/Jazz/Math/8-Bit/Hardcore/Indie/Rock

We are just finishing recording a few new songs. Once they’re done we suppose we’d better play some bloody gigs.

TSS x

One of the very few bands doing something that sounds different…falling somewhere in between Fugazi, The Flaming Lips and Dartz!
-The Music Magazine

The Siegfried Sassoon sound is a sophisticated, jazz-pop hybrid; stunning AT-AT drum patterns intertwined with melodic and sporadic vocals. Their song-writing style is of the maximum number of hooks per square inch variety.
