Y Niwl Y Niwl Y Niwl Y Niwl. Barely awake readers will have noticed we majorly dig this North Walian surf band, riding out 2010 on the back of some indestructable gigs and a fine debut album (reviewed here). Haven’t seen them in a disused scout hut yet though, but the enterprising young promoter behind this and last week’s waterfront shindig is working towards making these fun times happen. This will make an ideal pre-Godspeed You! Black Emperor afternoon treat: instrumental twangy goodness from Y Niwl, fey melodicisms from the Weary Band and hypnotic, woozy lo-fi (plus an ex-Electrelane member) from Houdie And The Sea. Bring dancing shoes, and a packed lunch.
