The 22nd October 2011 sees the inaugural all-day live music event organised & hosted by the Cardiff-based creative arts collective SWIGEN (South Wales Independent Gigs, Events & Networking) — or, ‘Bubble’ in Welsh.

Gŵyl SWIGEN Festival, in aid of Shelter Cymru & Oxjam Cardiff, will take place in the beautiful Grade II listed Ebenezer Chapel, situated on Charles Street, in the heart of Cardiff (info & map), & will feature 18 Welsh or Wales-based artists/bands performing on 2 stages.

The line up includes main organiser North Walian born singer songwriter Meilir Tomos( http://www.myspace.com/meilirmusic ), who recently returned from three shows at Green Man festival; newly formed North Wales-based Golden Fable (http://www.goldenfable.com/) (Tim and Sam’s Tim and the Sam Band with Tim and Sam offshoot), who will play one of their first full band shows; Cardiff’s No Thee No Ess (http://www.myspace.com/notheenoess) featuring & North Walian Pulco (http://www.pulco.bandcamp.com) , while also playing their own seperate sets, will join forces & reunite Andy Fung & Ash Cooke to perform some songs from their previous band Derrero – marking the first time they have performed together since Derrero split 10 years ago.

Finally, local noise pop blog favourites HEHFU (http://hehfu.bandcamp.com/) will be playing their debut gig at the festival alongside a cast of emerging and established talents from right accross Wales, plus a sprinkling of those that aren’t. The full line up will be revealed shortly.
