x5Don’t just love music, breathe it. Don’t just care about the world, change it. Apply for one of Oxjam’s volunteer roles and you can use your passion for music to change people’s lives.

Oxjam is Oxfam’s nationwide music festival with a difference. Hundreds of music events take place throughout October. It’s a sound way to fight poverty and save lives.

Each year hundreds of music-lovers like you get involved, from all across the UK, to raise money for Oxfam by holding their own events. Cardiff Oxjam will be back in October 2009 for another month of music, the festival taking place between 10th-11th October.

Getting involved is really simple!

Right now, we’re recruiting teams of volunteers in 22 different cities across the UK to organise a range of music events to help raise money and awareness for Oxfam’s Climate Change campaign.
So what’s involved?
Ever wanted to hold a music event, but haven’t yet had the chance? Well here’s that chance!
* Perhaps you are at school and would like to put on a Battle of the Bands contest (maybe even get your teachers to compete)?
* Would you like to hold a clothes swap event to not only raise awareness, but to get some brand new clobber?
* Could you host a music quiz?
* Do you have a venue in mind where you’ve always wanted to play but never got the chance before?

We want to hear your ideas. Oxjam is about diversity too, so we want to showcase all types of music: classical, folk, jazz, drum n’bass, we want it all!

We’ve started up a fan page now, which will update regualrly with news, events and anything else that may crop up.  Visit it here

Please email Kerry with any questions, queries and ideas you may have and our regional support team will be on hand to offer an advice or info you may need.
