You cruel, cruel man. And I’m willing to bet a couple of quid that the person putting this on is male, if only for the inclusion of the nastyboy squall rock of Shield Your Eyes, who make an utterly grievous mess of serrated post rock and tense screaming, and who should be a pain of a treat if last time’s appearance is any kind of yardstick. Warning to other bands on the bill: they may also stare incredibly intently at you as you play. It’s a compliment (probably). And those other bands are pretty swell too: Model Boat are green and twisted rock; Motes have a sound to match their excellent pedigree (Soeza/Line/Headfall < THESE ARE REALLY GOOD BANDS BY THE WAY) and The Jelas are still one of our fave Bristol bands, the kind that make you want to shout their name randomly at passers by in the street. Remember: ringing ears = a good thing (sometimes)

Coming very soon, this fine night at the County Sports, Colston St., Bristol…
