Back then their thing was bluesy folk hollering; nowadays the Pirates have left and a new fire in the belly is present. Having only just released their debut album, Peggy Sue are a rattling, nervy, sad and angry proposition, guitar, drums and accordian whirling these tales around your smiling face. Their friendship was originally based on a mutual appreciation of teen film &#8216;Empire Records&#8217; and an unspoken rivalry about their collections of Regina Spektor bootlegs.<\/p>\n<p>Then in January 2006, Katy was offered a gig and asked Rosa along to keep her company on stage. The duo played 3 songs, one of which they wrote that night and Peggy Sue was born. Olly Olly Olly joined the band while dusting through the streets of Austin in 2008&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Peggy Sue have toured with the likes of KATE NASH, MUMFORD AND SONS and THE MACCABEES.
