They had such a blast that they wanted to come back.<\/p>\n<p>The new album <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Tear It Open<\/span> was released last week and sounds more like the band&#8217;s live show than <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">So For Your Thrills&#8230;<\/span> More upbeat and punky it flies from one musical genre to another.  Opener <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Outlaws<\/span> is a rockabilly stomp, third track <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">You Do Your Thing<\/span> could be lifted straight from &#8216;Out Of Time&#8217; and closer <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">The Gilded Road<\/span> wouldn&#8217;t sound amiss if it were covered by Foo Fighters.  In between the ping pong around Violent Femmes, Pixies and Weezer.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re a fantasic live band and well worth venturing out on a Thursday and spending 4 of you hard earned pounds on.<\/p>\n<p>Support comes from&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/allhailtheking\">King Alexander<\/a><br \/>\nCardiff&#8217;s post-punk-art-rock mainstays grace the Joy stage for a second time having previously played with kindred spirits Heck.  Laura&#8217;s sweet vocals mix with Simon&#8217;s crazed yelping to create an deranged off kilter indie rock flavoured stew.  That makes no sense.  Just come and see them.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/cottonmouthrocks\">Cottonmouth Rocks<\/a><br \/>\nLe Reno Amp&#8217;s Drift Record labelmates are a boy\/girl dirty sounding rock n roll band that should always be wearing leather jackets.  Think of The Kills, scruffy harmonies and you won&#8217;t be going far wrong.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/lildeathsnewport\">Lil Deaths<\/a><br \/>\nHometown boys bring more angular rock to the party, influenced by Rueben and Biffy Clyro but a lot poopier, they&#8217;ve been described as &#8216;<em>An expolsion of indie pop that hits you in the face like a rocket shot out of a drainpipe!&#8217;. <\/em>Quality<em>.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\nTickets are 3 quid from Diverse or Spillers or \u00a34 on the night and it all kicks off at 8pm.<em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><\/em>Facebook event group<em><span style=\"font-style: italic;\"> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/home.php#\/event.php?eid=53854900956\">here<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yep, we&#8217;re putting on a gig and it&#8217;s going to be ace.
