\"BalloonMatthew David Scott<\/a><\/strong> has a new book being published. \u00a0It’s called ‘The Ground Remembers’ and is very good. \u00a0Usually this would mean that a few of us would trudge round to Waterstones and watch him read for a bit before going to the pub. \u00a0Fuck that.<\/p>\n

Myself and Mr Scott decided that book launches are boring. \u00a0It would be a lot more fun to create a night called Balloon which involves bands, DJs, readings and poetry and have it in a place with a bar.<\/p>\n

So, Monday 16th November sees the unveiling of Balloon #1. \u00a0Matt will open proceedings, reading an extract from the short story that gave the night it’s name. \u00a0After that we’ll have some poetry from Mao Jones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

All very book launch so far, fear not. \u00a0Jimi Alexander & The Satellites<\/a><\/strong> then take the stage with their cello led alt.country. \u00a0Apparently Jack Bauer is a fan. \u00a0I was told not to write that though so pretend you didn’t read it.<\/p>\n

By now everyone will’ve had a few beers and will be in the mood to listen to Rachel Trezise<\/a><\/strong> read. \u00a0We’ve told Rachel that she can read whatever she likes so don’t be massively surprised if it’s Jordan’s autobiography or something. \u00a0Matt then steps up to read from his new book. \u00a0Then the party starts in earnest.<\/p>\n

Ex Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci man Richard James<\/a><\/strong> will perform a set of his psych-y, folk-y sunshine pop. \u00a0This will be excellent and I so, so happy he agreed to play.<\/p>\n

This takes us nicely into Mr Carl ‘Forecast’ Rylatt playing his trademark crazy psychedelic tunes up until 1am.<\/p>\n
