I created this lovely site we know as The Joy Collective. <br \/>The year went horribly wrong, my dad diagnosed with cancerous brain tumour (misdiagnosed as a stroke the previous year) in July and the filthy disease has began to accelerate its progression. We&#8217;ll be sharing Christmas Day at the Royal Gwent Hospital. Everyday seems like you are fighting a losing battle.<br \/>I&#8217;m sorry to be so bleak, but thats pretty much how this year has been&#8230;fucking terrible and life changing.<\/p>\n<p>2009 will be moving on. <br \/>Shooting the demons. <br \/>Looking forward to pastures new. <br \/>Being a best friend to my mother. <br \/>Making more music and playing it live to drunken people.<br \/>The Joy Collective having a shiny (not-too-shiny) new look.<br \/>Business as usual, fighting the good fight for great bands, great promoters and supportive live music venues.<br \/>Finally meeting Will Steen in person.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recorded music highlights of 2008?
