Am I being biased as they’ve played Joy?<\/span> I’m being biased for all sorts of reasons but yeah, they’ve played Joy.<\/p>\n

You thought I’d forgotten them didn’t you? Those who know me may think I’m a little biased here but frankly that’s bollocks, Future Of The Left<\/a> are just simply my favourite band. A lot of you, I’m sure will’ve<\/span> seen the band play in Cardiff (or Newport) before, it’s not been a rare occurrence<\/span> this last 12 months, they’ve been getting steadily better and better. The set list has evolved throughout the year and has spawned a live album, ‘Last Night I Saved Her From Vampires’<\/span> which showcases several songs that don’t feature on last year’s debut, ‘Curses’<\/span>. Pencilled in as the next single, ‘The Hope That House Built’ has been on their myspace for a while and will hopefully get an airing alongside new live favourites ‘Drink Nike’, ‘Distant Jabs At A Soul’, V.D.F.A’<\/span> and always entertaining set closer, ‘Cloak The Dagger’<\/span> (make sure you can see the stage for that one, you’ll have to count Kelson’s press ups).
If you haven’t come across the band before then here are the basics, two of them were in mclusky<\/span>, the other in Jarcrew<\/span>. Both those bands were brilliant, this one is better. If you want comparisons<\/span>, look at Wire, Les Savy Fav, Pixies but also Talking Heads and Roxy Music. A fitting way to end a Cardiff festival.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
