THE SHAKY HANDS<\/a><\/strong> are a Portland-based rock band on Kill Rock Stars, they’ve just released new album ‘Let It Die’ which is produced by Jay Pellicci (Deerhoof, Erase Errata). \u00a0These are the facts.<\/p>\n

The Shaky Hands are awesome, before I go on, here’s a video to give you some idea of the general awesomeness:

There, getting the idea now? \u00a0If you like wonky indie in the stylings of Pavement and like bands like Wavves, Lovvers, Deerhoof and suchlike but wish that they’re just write a tune or two or even if you like country tinged bonkersness like Blitzen Trapper and Langhorne Slim then for fuck sake, buy tickets for this.<\/p>\n

Support comes from The Balky Mule<\/a>. <\/strong>Fans of\u00a0\u00a0everything I’ve just mentioned above will like this too!! \u00a0Inspired support choice. \u00a0This guy has been in every lofi band ever, currently resident in Melbourne, Australia, The Balky Mule is the alias of Sam Jones, a highly talented, self-taught multi-instrumentalist, who over the past decade or more has been a key member of the vibrant Bristol post-rock scene, playing in numerous bands, both live or on records, including Movietone and Crescent (alongside his bandleader brother, Matt), Flying Saucer Attack, Minotaur Shock, and Third Eye Foundation. During this time The Balky Mules\u2019 home-recorded releases have been confined to a handful of compilation tracks, remixes and tapes swapped among friends.
\nThe Balky Mule’s debut self-titled album was released in a small edition on Sam and his brother’s own Archipelago label in 2000. Self-recorded either side of a move between the UK and Australia, The Balky Mule\u2019s new album \u2018The Length of the Rail\u2019 is set for release on FatCat in March 2009.<\/p>\n

Opening are Mwsog<\/a><\/strong> who I know nothing about. \u00a0The songs on the myspace sound like they are either going to be very entertaining live or have people running for a fag, scared of their circus meets mating whale sound. \u00a0Should be good!<\/p>\n

All Loose gigs are worth going to, this one especially so. \u00a0It’ll be made slightly better by myself and Vivers DJing laughably between bands.<\/p>\n
